How to Jailbreak iPhone 4 & Apple TV 2G With iOS 4.3 BETA 3 Using PwnageTool Bundles

Few hours ago Apple has released iOS 4.3 BETA 3 for developers.For those who have legit access to iOS 4.3 Beta 3 and would like to Jailbreak their iOS device with iOS 4.3 BETA 3, @DjayB6 has created PwnageTool bundle for iOS 4.3 BETA 3. Using these bundles, you can create a custom firmware with the help fo PwnageTool and then restore it on your iPhone 4 & Apple TV 2G. Keep in mind, this is a Tethered jailbreak.
This Jailbreaking procedure for iOS 4.3 Beta 3 is very complex. So, we strong recommend all the n00bs to stay away from it. How to Jailbreak iPhone 4 & Apple TV 2G – iOS 4.3 BETA 3 Using PwnageTool Bundle

Step 1: Download the required files – Links posted below
Step 2: Move the downloaded PwnageTool Bundle(s) (iPhone 4 / Apple TV 2G / iPad / iPodTouch) into the following folder of the Official PwnageTool 4.1.2

Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/

Step 3: Close all windows and Install RamDisk
Step 4: Once install, Launch Pwnage Tool and start creating Custom Firmware
Step 5: Just after you enter the admin password while creating custom firmware, you will notice that RamDisk will patch the custom firmware
Step 6: Once the custom firmware is created, you can head over an restore it on your iOS device.
Note: Keep in mind, this doesn’t have Hacktivation Patch. That means, you must have a official SIM to activate your iPhone 4.
We have not tested this bundle. But, we have tested iOS 4.3 BETA 1 bundle and RAMDisk, they worked flawlessly.

How to Tethered Boot

Step 1: Put your iOS Device in DFU MODE (Make sure its connected to you computer)
Step 2: Now, change the custom firmware extension (that we have just created) from ipsw to zip
Step 3: Now grab the following files from Firmware/dfu/ and move it Tethered Boot folder (that we have downloaded)

• kernelcache.release.n90
• iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu

Step 4: Launch Terminal and input the following commands.. (Make sure the Tethered Boot that you have downloaded is extracted and its on the desktop)

sudo sh
cd desktop/tetheredboot
./tetheredboot -i iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu -k kernelcache.release.n90

Step 5: Dont worry about the message on your Terminal windows. if you get a white screen on your iPhone, you are in a good shape.
Thats’s it! In just few seconds, your device will be booted. Enjoy!

iOS 4.3 Beta 3 Released for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Apple has just seeded iOS 4.3 Beta 3 to developers. And as always, this build is meant for developers only.
Only members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can access these bits of by signing into Apple Developer Connection.

First Beta was released last month on January 12th, followed by second Beta on January 2nd.

Apple Relaxes Warranty Policy Involving iPhone’s Liquid Contact Indicator

This is definitely a win for consumers. As you know, Apple places a small Liquid Contact Indicator inside the majority of their devices to identify whether or not the device has been subjected to liquid damage.

The reason for this is because water damage eliminates the consumer from being eligible for AppleCare. In other words, liquid damage isn’t covered under warranty.
Obviously directly submerging your iPhone in a body of water is a good reason for Apple to deny your claims, but what if your iPhone’s LCI triggered accidentally due to extreme humidity? What then?

In the past you would have been labeled as one who mishandles your iPhone, but it looks as if Apple is taking the sensible approach and relaxing its strict water damage policy. Take a look at their updated policy:

Note the highlighted portion in orange, which is a strict departure from the company’s former policy.
I’m sure the class action lawsuits they’ve had to endure in the past regarding this very matter didn’t slow Apple’s decision, but this is very good news for consumers, a fair move by Cupertino.

Verizon iPhone 4 Running iOS 4.2.6 Can Be Jailbroken In 0 Days

Just a little while ago, we have learned that Apple upload iOS 4.2.6 for Verizon iPhone 4 up on their servers. For those who are wondering if Verizon iPhone 4 is jailbreakable ? The answer could be YES. According to MuscleNerd, Verizon iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.6 could be vulnerable with limera1n exploit. In other words, Verizon iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.6 could be jailbreakable using limera1n exploit. So, if it is vulnerable for sure, then the iPhone Dev Team can pull a tethered jailbreak solution on the same day for Verizon iPhone 4.

Moments ago, Apple seeded iOS 4.2.6 to public for Verizon’s CDMA iPhone 4 ahead of its launch date, that is February 10th, 2011.


Now the real question is that whether iOS 4.2.6 is vulnerable to Geohot’s Limera1n exploit or not? MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team thinks it probably is:

Cause If it isn’t, then Verizon iPhone 4 users wont be able to jailbreak until and unless someone finds another bootrom exploit in the new hardware.

iOS 4.2.6 for Verizon iPhone 4 Now Available for Download

Apple has posted iOS 4.2.6 for Verizon iPhone 4 ahead of its scheduled launch date, that is on February 10th, 2011.


The firmware file weighs around 652mb in size, and has build number 8E200. iPhone3,3 indication identification number for Verizon’s CDMA iPhone 4.
The key difference between iOS 4.2.6 and iOS 4.2.1 for the current GSM iPhone 4 is the “Personal Hotspot” feature, which will be available for GSM iPhones starting with iOS 4.3.
